Targeted Strategies, Global Impact: The Obsidian Co. Earns 8 Award Nominations

Within today’s saturated social media landscape, true distinction shines through. It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating our victory at the 2023 Global Social Media Awards. Now, we’re fully engaged in another year of digital innovation.

We’re truly honoured to be finalists in eight categories at the 2024 Global Social Media Awards. This is a testament to our unwavering commitment to elevating the social media marketing industry.

This dedication has earned us recognition in the following categories:


Since 2021, our compact team of seven has built a strong reputation in the dynamic world of digital marketing, earning both local and global recognition. We distinguish ourselves by focusing on targeted, measurable strategies that maximise results for our clients. Our team members are dedicated to continuous learning, ensuring we stay at the forefront of our field.


As a pioneering digital marketing agency in Cyprus, we recognized LinkedIn’s potential for effective brand communication early on.  When taking on the digital marketing campaign for Ancoria Insurance, a promising company with a modest market share, we faced a significant challenge.

Their aim was unambiguous: to increase their presence within the local market.  Our industry research revealed that Ancoria Insurance’s competitors were not fully leveraging the power of LinkedIn, presenting an opportunity to establish a strong market presence on the platform.


Our goal in collaborating with Kapnos Airport Shuttle was to promote the use of public transport within the Cypriot market. We enhanced Kapnos Airport Shuttle’s public communication strategy through targeted social media advertising.

Our content focused on informing the public about routes, fares, and the ticket purchasing process. Additionally, we showcased images of staff and buses to build brand familiarity.  The results were impressive: with a modest budget, we facilitated a 53.8% increase in ticket sales, demonstrating a clear growth in local bus usage.


Our partnership with Crowdbase has proven highly successful for both of our growing companies.  Working together, we revitalized our audience engagement strategies. We focused on Cyprus’s most popular social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, while also targeting LinkedIn’s business-focused audience.

Our content clarified Crowdbase’s function and educated the public about crowdfunding. This led to Crowdbase investments reaching an impressive €298,010 above target within six months – a 119.2% overachievement in the local market. This success directly contributed to Crowdbase’s expansion into the global market.


Crocodile is a local footwear retailer specializing in high-end designer shoes. Their goal in partnering with us was to boost their online presence and increase e-commerce sales.  Given the luxury nature of their products, online sales posed a challenge as customers typically prefer in-store try-ons. We optimized the Meta platform with diverse ad formats to address this challenge.  The result was exceptional, with 453 purchases in two months, exceeding all expectations.


Within Cyprus’s focused marketplace, we successfully overcame the challenges of online footwear sales. Our advertising emphasized the exceptional quality of our products, setting us apart from competitors. This strategy resulted in significant online sales growth, with many customers opting for our e-commerce platform over physical stores. Within a two-month period, sales reached an impressive €45,801.72.


Our partnership with Ancoria Insurance has a long and successful history, dating back to our agency’s early days. As a fledgling company, we were confident our collaboration would yield positive results. We began with a strong emphasis on social media, particularly LinkedIn. 

The key to our success was Ancoria Insurance’s trust, allowing us the flexibility to implement various strategies and refine our advertising materials. This approach led to a significant 1.7% increase in their local market share.


Our paid advertising campaigns were the primary driver of success for the Crocodile shoes project. We carefully selected our campaign objectives and budget allocation. Thorough audience research ensured we targeted potential buyers most likely to purchase our products.  Our advertising materials emphasized both the quality of the footwear and any available offers. This strategy resulted in an impressive Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) of 8.78.
